When Everything Goes Wrong… And You Keep Going

Let’s just say... this week did not go how I planned. πŸ˜‚

I started off with the best intentions.

πŸ“‹ I made a clear plan.
πŸ”’ I set distraction-free time by putting my phone in black-and-white mode and using Opal to block social media dopamine hits (more about that here on my Instagram).
πŸš€ I knew exactly which needle-moving activities I needed to focus on for my keynote, business, and training.

Sunday:
I taught my classes for the Pull-Up and Strong Feels Good ladies πŸ’ͺ, then spent the entire day scripting, refining, and customizing my keynote for the big event on Saturday—digging into pre-call notes, updating slides, and making sure I was solving the real problems for the audience.

Monday:
Super productive. Stayed on track with the keynote slides, feeling dialed in. βœ…

Tuesday:
A full day of calls and podcasts πŸŽ™οΈ. I got to chat with some amazing Pull-Up Revolution students:

  • A 70-year-old woman with 11 horses 🐎 excited to build her strength

  • A kindergarten teacher πŸƒ‍♀️ training to crush her next Spartan Race

We mapped out their schedules, personalized their path, and showed them how our pull-up methodology isn’t just about pull-ups—it’s about life strength.

That night, I even had a date (yes, a real one!) at a friends-and-family opening of a new sandwich shop in Austin πŸ” called KnuckleSandwiches.

But then... things went sideways. Fast. 🚨


Tire Trouble πŸš—… and a Masterclass in Adaptability

Driving home, my car started swerving.
Tire pressure reading: 11 (when it should be 35) 😬.

Tried to refill the tire... no luck. It wouldn’t hold air.

Turns out? The slow leak I’d been managing for two weeks?
Yeah. It fully gave out.

Cue a late-night parking lot scramble.

I called my friend (and honorary Dog Park President 🐢) John Chris for help.
He showed up with tools, a car jack... we flagged down a neighbor with a truck... only to realize the jack didn’t fit my car. 🀦‍♀️

The next day:
πŸš— Bought a jack and a lug wrench at AutoZone.
πŸš— Jacked up the car and removed the tire.
πŸš— Took the tire to multiple shops (after being told wrong info online πŸ™„).
πŸš— Finally got it replaced... $500 and an entire day later.

Frustrated? Yes.
Behind on work? Yes.
Ready to throw in the towel? Almost.

But this was my moment to live out my own RIGHT™ Framework:

  • R – Recognize and Feel: I acknowledged the frustration.

  • I – Identify What I Could Control: I couldn't change the tire situation—but I could problem-solve.

  • G – Game Plan: Step-by-step: tools, tire shop, back in action.

  • H – Hold Onto the Adaptable Mindset: Shifting and adjusting every time a wrench (literally) got thrown in.

  • T – Take Delusional Action: I learned how to change a tire. I kept moving.


Travel Drama ✈️... and a Lesson in Resilience

Just when I thought the chaos was over...I had a Keynote in Atlantic City this Week! Fun fact last time I was in Atlantic City I was playing the role of a Zombie in the movie "Army of the Dead" 

Thursday morning: I packed, prepped, and Ubered to the airport at 4am.
Only to get a notification: ✈️ DELAYED until 2pm.

Fine, I thought. I’ll adapt.
Napped. Got back to work on my keynote.

Then: ✈️ FLIGHT CANCELLED.

Rebooked... to fly to Chicago, sleep in a sketchy airport hotel for 4 hours, and then fly to Philly. 😡‍πŸ’«

Was it exhausting? Absolutely.
Was it what I planned? Nope.

But I kept asking myself:

What if it’s all already going right?


The Reward: A Keynote That Changed Lives 🎀✨

After all the chaos… I finally arrived in Atlantic City.

I took a long shower, reviewed my keynote slides, rehearsed like crazy.

And Saturday?

I delivered the most powerful keynote of my life.

The women in the audience resonated deeply.
Tears. Laughter. Breakthroughs.
Real lives changed.
